Customs and Culture
Customs for greeting people- When greeting someone you shake hands with the right hand. Friends often touch each others cheeks 3 times or offer a hug by grasping the other persons shoulder. To show respect of social status people hold their right forearm with their left hand while shaking hands. Holding hands between people of the same sec is a sign of friendship. When a man is greeting a woman it is best to wait for the woman to extend her hand.
Customs for Dressing- People love to look their finest even on a low budget. They wear a traditional wraparound called a pagne, woman, girls, and elderly men wear them over their normal clothing. Some women even wear scarves wrapped around their heads.
Customs for eating- They mainly eat potatoes, bananas, beans and sometimes fish. They will occasionally eat meat it can not be their own animal or a cow at all. Porridge, French bread, coffee, and tea are normally ate and drank for breakfast. Also if you invite friends out to drink you pay until you are broke, if friends invite you to drink they pay for all your drinks. Many woman are not allowed to drink at all.

If you wan to drink milk you can not heat or boil it or can not be consumed the same day as peanuts and peas are consumed. To bring you good luck if your cow dies you must eat its meat then bury its horns near the house.
